Confirmed: 'Call Me By Your Name' book sequel to be released this Fall

After months of will they/won’t they stirred by writer André Aciman tweeting last year that he will be writing a follow-up to Call Me By Your Name, we finally have some concrete details.

The book’s sequel, Find Me, will give more time to Elio’s father, who was alluded to be gay or queer in the original 2007 novel and subsequent film adaptation. The book’s description also hints at another sexy ass European encounter between Elio and Oliver.

From the publisher Farrar, Straus, and Giroux: “In Find Me, Aciman shows us Elio’s father Samuel, now divorced, on a trip from Florence to Rome to visit Elio, who has become a gifted classical pianist. A chance encounter on the train leads to a relationship that changes Sami’s life definitively. Elio soon moves to Paris where he too has a consequential affair, while Oliver, now a professor in northern New England with sons who are nearly grown, suddenly finds himself contemplating a return visit to Europe.”

Earlier this week, Armie Hammer broke gay hearts when he told Vulture, “If we do make a second one, I think we’re setting ourselves up for disappointment.”

No word on if we’ll be getting a cinematic sequel just yet — but we wouldn’t rule it out!

Find Me will be released this October via FSG.
